"Wall Paintings"
August 1, 2009 - August 15, 2009
Reception
Saturday, August 1, 7 - 10 pm
curated by Kate Langridge

AES Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of paintings by two New York artists, Chris Esposito and Amber Dubois. The exhibition will feature work curated by Kate Langridge.

Chris Esposito uses history as a means to travel through his paintings. The excess of present day and the gritty repetition of words and images are placed in order to reconstruct architectural sensations as well as the limitations of the human mind. Chris s paintings take inspiration from actual wall spaces he has seen.

Amber Dubois lives and works in Bushwick, Brooklyn. In her most recent body of work, Amber creates hallucinatory spaces which derive from a range of source materials--from those of high brow art historical paradigms to pop culture references. Amber builds these visual cues into a violent and unexpected visual experience through alien color.
